Different Types Of Friends
© Sasha17
We all have many types of friends,
And in our life they come and go.
But if we can understand their roles,
Then it can be easier to let some go.
Some friends are there for you,
At a time when you are in dire need.
They have come into life for a reason,
Giving you what you require indeed.
But when this reason is resolved,
It often becomes time to part,
Because when the reason is gone,
Both may want a fresh new start.
Other friends are there for a season,
To laugh with and have lots of fun.
But just as seasons come to an end,
Sometimes these friendships are done.
Some people are very fortunate,
To have very special lifetime friends.
Who will remain in their life forever,
And that is a friendship that never ends.
I am lucky and have many lifetime friends,
Who came into my life for a reason.
We’ve enjoyed many laughs and shed tears,
But they stayed long after a season.
And in our life they come and go.
But if we can understand their roles,
Then it can be easier to let some go.

REFLECTION
One’s life never
ends without experiencing it with a friend. Everyone has a friend, and most of
the time, friends! We all have friends, and each one is different from another
in terms of physical characteristics or in terms of the way you connect with
each other may it be on how you bond or how you get along.
I admire how it was
portrayed in the poem how seasons and friendship are connected to each other.
We all know that seasons change, and so do friends. We know that seasons come
to an end, and so does friendship. We all have that one friend who “got away”.
Sometimes, that friend is us. For whatever reason or reasons it may be, it
ended your connection for good, or maybe it just ended unexpectedly with either
one of you clueless… even if time did its own thing.
The second stanza
gave warmth to my heart. There comes a time when you just feel alone amidst the
fact that you know that there are people who are there for you and who care
about you, but nothing beats the feeling when your friend grabs you by the
hand, looks you in the eyes, and says “Let’s have a pig out right now!”,
nothing more, nothing less. And that moment, you just feel warm and happy
inside in an instant. There may be people who will comfort you, but there will
always be that friend who will give you what you need and fills you with his
presence when you are in a bad condition. As it is said in the Disney movie
“The Princess and The Frog”, “He never had what he wanted, but he had what he
needed…he had love”.
Even though some
friendships end like the seasons, barely will there last from summer ‘till
winter. And that is what we should treasure the most. For barely too will you
find a friend that’s playing beach volley with you in the summer, walking with
you in the park during autumn, picking flowers with you at spring, and making
hot coco for you during winter. We must treasure each time with our valued
friends because we’ll never know who’s leaving after spending the four seasons
with you and who’s planning out the things you’ll do again next summer--- the
one more than willing to spend the four seasons with you and look forward to
the first season until the last with you again… infinitely. As it is said “A
true friend is like a diamond, precious and rare; false friends are like fallen
leaves, found everywhere!”. In conclusion, if you have already found your
diamond, you better treasure it.
